Instagram introduces status notes, group profiles and features like BeReal
Notes will soon appear for all users, the social network is still testing other functions. Notes are messages of up to 60 characters that contain only text and emoji, according to the Meta blog. They will appear at the top of your inbox for 24 hours. Replies to notes will come in private messages.
The social network has begun testing Candid Stories, a feature that will allow users to share photos in real time, just like in BeReal. Such a "Story" will only be shown to those who share the same content. Instagram will send you daily photo reminders (you can turn them off).
Instagram is also testing group profiles, which will allow you to share posts on a special shared profile with friends. The content published in it will be available only to group members, and not to subscribers. Tests are taking place in Canada, Chile and Taiwan, writes WSJ.
